Keeping our kitchen area clean is a priority. By having everything in order, we reduce the time we waste looking for utensils. With a clean kitchen we also reduce the chances of infections, and our family will have a better health because we will keep fungi and bacteria at bay in those spaces.
Here we tell you the three places you should always keep clean in your kitchen.
Countertops:
The clearest source of infection are the countertops. It is the place that gets dirty the fastest and the perfect space for the formation of bacteria. In these spaces we usually place food, cutlery, kitchen utensils and even our own cell phone.
If your countertop is made of natural stone, granite or marble, it is very important that you do not use lemon, vinegar or dishwashing soap to wash the area because you can damage the surface. We recommend you always use a pH neutral soap and warm water.
Sink:
This is the wettest area in your kitchen and where layers of bacteria are created. There, water, soap and the rest of the food come together and, if you don’t take good care of the sink, fungus starts to form. It is very important to have the sink well sealed. To clean the area, don’t just use dishwashing detergent, we recommend using baking soda to clean all the dirt out of the sink. Also, beware of cream cleaners! Their main function is not to disinfect the sink.
Stove burners:
Sometimes we leave pieces of food for days in that area and it is easy for bacteria to form and smell bad. To clean stove burners, it is necessary to have paper towels or a dry cloth, hot water and baking soda. Mix the hot water with the baking soda in a bowl, place it on the burners and leave them there for 45 minutes before rinsing and drying.
We hope that at your next parties or get-togethers, bacteria and fungi will not be part of your home!
