In the construction sector, buildings are getting taller and the demand for products to support them is greater, therefore, the demand for more durable and/or resistant materials is a constant. In addition, obtaining a return on investment as soon as possible has become another important variable, so projects must be completed in the shortest possible time.

To achieve this, the use of precast concrete or prefabricated systems has been implemented and polyurethane sealants are widely used in this construction sector. For this reason, Productos Pennsylvania does not lag and incorporates to its portfolio duretán® XP, a high performance polyurethane sealant for construction experts.

In addition to being ecological, high-tech, sustainable and environmentally friendly, duretán® XP is ideal for sealing joints with extreme movement due to its high elongation and capacity to absorb movements. This allows it to seal joints of up to 5 cm, without generating bubbles or bad finishes compared to a traditional polyurethane sealant.

This product is ideal for sealing joints between smooth or porous materials with a movement capacity of 50%, which allows it to work not only in conventional buildings but also in high-rise buildings, in addition to having excellent resistance to UV rays and weathering. It is also paintable and low VOC.

Some of the most common uses are:

  • Aluminum window joint seals in homes or buildings.
  • Seals in construction joints with severe movement between materials such as masonry, retaining walls and cement panels.
  • Seals in metals, iron, aluminum sheets and multiple industrial and construction materials.
  • Seals on galvanized sheet metal roofs and seals between metal sheets.
  • Seals in wood floors, laminated sheeting, beams and large ceilings.
  • Sealing constructive or accidental joints in quarry, concrete, block, partition.

Among its advantages, duretán® XP meets ASTM-C920 class 50 standards. It has a low VOC level (contributes to obtaining points for LEED certification) and complies with FDA requirements since it has ISEGA Certification for seals in food storage spaces.
